Xbox 360

The Xbox 360, the successor to Microsoft's original Xbox, was officially unveiled on MTV in May 2005 and later launched in November 2005. It introduced features like the Xbox Live Marketplace, party chat, and Achievements, which became staples in online gaming. The Xbox 360 was influential in shaping the modern online gaming landscape and set new standards for console functionality with its multimedia capabilities, including streaming services. Its emphasis on digital distribution and online services influenced future console designs.

The Xbox 360 was powered by a custom IBM PowerPC CPU and featured advanced graphics capabilities with its ATI Xenos GPU. It was available in multiple configurations with varying hard drive sizes. Its architecture allowed for significant improvements in game graphics and performance compared to its predecessor. The Xbox 360 faced notable technical challenges, particularly the infamous "Red Ring of Death" hardware failure.
